












La proprietà è composta da tredici edifici e complessi moderni in tutta la Finlandia (1928-1988) che esemplificano il Movimento Moderno del XX secolo e la sua risposta ad ampi bisogni sociali. Queste strutture civiche, comunitarie e residenziali, presenti sia in contesti urbani che rurali, sono associate a livello internazionale ad Alvar Aalto, ma riflettono la creatività collaborativa di Aalto, Aino Marsio‑Aalto, Elissa Aalto, lo studio Aalto e i loro partner di progettazione. Radicate nelle tradizioni costruttive finlandesi e al tempo stesso ispirate alle idee moderniste globali, le opere esprimono una visione incentrata sull’uomo, site-specific ed empatica che distingue il contributo della Finlandia all’architettura moderna. Welp. They’re cultural i guess. Even if they’re godawful msot of the time, at least there’s some nice ones
i love his use of wood and light in some of them like the town hall on Säynätsalo

Also, no diss, but this reminds me of a scribble at the toilets of Jyväskylä uni main building:
“Inventions of A Aalto
– an ameba shaped vase
– stairs inside a public toilet”
Great, now we can never get rid of them.
They forgot Rovaniemi though 😭 The whole design of the city came from Alvar Aalto, it looks like a head of a reindeer and we also have his architecture (the library, a theater, city hall, houses etc.).
So the bar is getting lower and lower.
Its not in Finland, but I hope maison louis carre was inscribed as well
