It’s a classic, that’s for sure.
Good? Depends on your preference, but I wouldn’t call those big brands quality coffee.

Not compared to anything a local roaster offers, but fine for a supermarket coffee.

It’s a Dutch brand. I prefer it but I buy the “Dessert” one (red package). It doesn’t seem to be common in bars, restaurants and offices. So I don’t think it’s that popular.

Coffee snob here: no, not really. It’s accessible, generic and well known, but there are a lot of better options available (they are more expensive, though).
E.g.: Caffenation, Kolonel Coffee, Normo, MOK Coffee. (Specialty roasters.)
It all boils down to personal preference, though. Some people like DE, and that’s prefectly fine. It’s not for me, though.

None of the big brand powder bags are good. If you want actual good coffee you have to go to a local roaster. They grind the coffee themselves and it’s really fresh. The coffee in these bags are old and stale

Douwe Egberts has imo some of the better supermarket coffee. I’m sure there’s better coffees out there from smaller brands, but not everyone cares about that.

For a supermarket brand it’s fairly good. Is there better? Sure. But it can do.

It’s quite good, but try Jacqmotte Moka Absolu. That’s the best one in the stores, imo.

I use it for my espressos lately because in comparisons to the supermarket coffee it is perfectly acceptable and best of all consistent across bags.
Given my relatively low budget setup, buying expensive coffee is only an occasional treat.
If you want something for every day that bag will work.
It’s like the score on the bag, 7/10. Maybe even an 8!
