yes because it looks like just plain old russian with pre-reform orthography
i think your student is either wrong or just fucking around with you
But it’s now Rusyn, it’s Russian language in old orthography
Ok, this is awkward. As others have pointed out, the text in these pictures seems to be pre-reform Russian, not Rusyn. However I did find a sample of Rusyn [here.](https://www.language-museum.com/encyclopedia/r/rusyn.php)
