Vodno is the most popular and closest to the city. I can send you a map of all the trails in dm. If Vodno is too little of a challenge for you, you can continue your journey to Canyon Matka.

There are hiking / mountaineering clubs in Skopje and there are usually organized hikes with guides and organized transport every week. Here’s one this week

Vodno or Matka are more beginner friendly and there are people who do this everyday
It’s a bit of a drive, but you can take the bus to tetovo then take a taxi to Kamenjane for the waterfall trail. Best hike I’ve done since moving here! It’s incredible
