Mirage 2000-5 are fairly recent planes. The MK2 variant can use Exocet missiles, in case there’s something of the black sea fleet left once they arrive.

Stupid comparisons must die, they are different planes. Deltas and normal wings have differnt strength, they both can bring different type of missiles. Maybe the Mirage is more polyvalent? But who cares really.

The Mirage 2000-5 is a more than capable fighter, it is battle proven, super reliable, regularly upgraded, fast and built like a flying tank.
Russian planes are not as good as what Russia claims. Russia’s stealth fighter is not stealth, Russia’s 5th generation fighters are really 4th generation.
The reason why F-16 are sent to Ukraine is availability. The F-16 is the most sold fighter in history, meaning there are airframes, parts and technicians available all over the world.
The real question is, which weapons will they get and are they allowed to use them in Rusland ?

(the Mirage is better because it might actually arrive and be allowed to hit targets, unlike the F-16 which the US will slow roll till the conflict is over, and if it does by some miracle arrive, the restrictions will be so onerous it’s pointless)

Any aircraft now is infinitely better than a promised aircraft that never arrives.
As an American, and a backer of NATO, the correct answer is all of them.
The perfect accessory for these jets would be Tomahawk missiles. The Tomahawks can take out radar and command-and-control, to let the jets take out the meatier targets.
