>The IEA argues that (Zuhal) Demir’s accusation is incorrect. It points out that the energy landscape changed dramatically between May 2021 and April 2022: the auction of new gas power plants was successful and the 2 nuclear reactors had been extended in the meantime. So the May 2021 document was completely outdated. The April 2022 final report was completely different.

She changed the document from the IEA on her own despite her cabinet having promised they would not without approval from the other cabinets. Yes, she stopped doing it the war started and yes, the entire thing ended up being irrelevant due to WW3 starting, but she still broke the informal rules set by the cabinets.
Moreover, it’s pretty clear she attempted to manipulate the advice from IEA several times to suit her agenda (which was the government agenda at the time). So Demir is not wrong.

Tuurlijk, die zou alles doen om die kerncentrales te sluiten, een doc wijzigen en wat overeenkomsten “vergeten” is wel het minste.
> Het IEA zegt niets over de tussentijdse versie van juni 2021, waar het advies mogelijk wel was aangepast onder druk van Van der Straeten. Of ze nu even wel hebben geplooid of niet, blijft dus onduidelijk.
