Post reminds me of r/AmerExit where everyone wants to leave worrying about Trump and thinks Europe is all liberal and social benefits.
Sad facts are is we are in the situation as in the 1920s. Capitalism/wealth gap/expensive housing/immigration of people from different lands. The world seems to cycle through this every 100 years or so and populist leaders seem to take power.
Humans never learn.
So many delusional people who think that stopping environmental efforts and limiting immigration will make their poor lives better in the long term
Tbh what did you expect? In times of crisis, people often turn towards conservative (extreme/ far right) political parties. 1. They often offer quick “solutions” for problems (whilst not often being efficient or well thought out, not taking the distant future into the equation. They still are solution in the eye of the normal citizen) 2. It has something to do with the willingness of the people to progress onwards from conservative beliefs in times of crisis because it is often connected to some sense of an anchor in such times. 3. They are often populistic parties, especially the AFD in this case, and the Union with Markus Söder, and since a lot of people want to hear solutions that check the things mentioned above.
It’s called democracy
