      >**The Russian military is redeploying additional forces to the border with Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes in a recent study.**

      >Citing reports from both Russian and Ukrainian sources, the ISW stressed that new Russian troops, including orces of the Chechen Achmat specnaz battalion, are being sent to the front.

      >“Russian military command is increasing the Russian force grouping near the border area by transferring elements of unspecified regiments and brigades from other sectors of the front, including from occupied Kherson Oblast,” the ISW said.

      >Speaking during a historic, first-ever visit to NATO’s new member Sweden on Friday, the alliance’s head Jens Stoltenberg reiterated Ukraine’s right to defend itself under international law.

      >”Ukraine has the right to self-defense,” Stoltenberg stated at a news conference with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at a military base near Stockholm.

      >He elaborated, as quoted by Reuters: “The right to self-defense also includes the right to hit legitimate, military targets on the territory of the attacking party, the aggressor, in this case, Russia.”

This does not seem to make any sense to me from a strategic perspective. They are losing and grinding people and equipment down in their Kharkiv offensive. They are losing more soldiers per day than at any other time during this war, not to mention their ballooning loss in machinery. The Ukrainians targeting russian territory with Western weaponry has made it worse for them as well. Yet, they are reinforcing it? I think this is actually good news for Ukraine because if they reinforce this area, it means their lines get weaker in other places.

    3. Should read. “Russia sending more targets to Kharkiv region”

    4. This is highly likely great news for Ukraine.

The Chechens are often used to deter retreating troops, who will be shot for trying to escape being killed by Ukraine.

      Neologism found:
“new Russian troops, including orces of the Chechen Achmat specnaz battalion”

      ORCES

The article says they are rotating forces out of Kherson, the only sense I can make of this is that they are preparing to lose Kherson and their land bridge to Crimea given their supply lines and AA coverage there is in shambles and with F-16s due to arrive in the next few weeks, it’s going to get a lot worse.

If they’re deploying additional forces they must have found a big toilet factory or warehouse. Something of immense value.
