I wonder how successful they are on the battlefield. Having multiple languages in one Platoon or Squad sounds like a nightmare. And it is probably a waste of resources too msince any of the other Russian soldiers and officers probably consider them expendable in the best case and absolutely despise them in the worse. I am sure that there are a good number of Russians in the military that like and treat their African and Asian fellow soldiers as equal. But not when it is either him or them
Since language barriers exist, acts of racism will likely be rampant and since African soldiers are less likely to follow Russian culture of total obedience, we’ll have to see how well replacing dead Russians with living Africans will work out.
Africa is unfortunately full of desparate people who don’t see any future for themselves in their countries. I doubt Putin’s African recruiting pool will run out soon. Even the $2,200 recruiting bonus which can be immediately given to their families would undoubtedly motivate many men to sign up.
I mean…can’t we just pay them to fight for Ukraine? Or even just to not fight at all? $2,000 to stop a man going to fight for Russia is an absolutely **dirt cheap** way of removing a soldier from the battlefield compared to giving Ukraine the weapons that it would take to kill him. And money is something we have in fucking spades compared to Russia.
When people start realizing that these idiots sign up and leave and don’t return maybe world will get around. But you know what would be helpful to counter these recruitment ads is information warfare to counter this and let them know the reality of the war and how likely they are to die and not get paid. If they were aware it would likely have an impact of some degree
I think Ukraine should translate the drone drop grenade death videos/ photos into African languages and spam it over there.
Let them know it’s a one way ticket.
Personally I’d rather starve to death than contribute to Russia’s long list of war crimes.
This is so messed up. It’s Orcastan so I expect nothing less, but they’re specifically preying on some of the poorest nations in Africa. Even if these guys don’t make it back, $2000 sign on bonus is a ton of money in those places. I’m sure many know that they’re probably going to die and sign up anyway to feed their families.

Mercenary armies are famously disciplined and effective. No way this doesn’t go great for Putin. By that I, of course mean that this is a stupid fucking idea. Putin could leave Ukraine and then give up all his nukes and vow to help Ukraine rebuild and maybe then he could save his soul. But no, he’s going to keep wasting lives for his pointless, unwinnable war.
As soon as they start being abused, some will turn their guns on the Russians.
What kind of army awaits the arrival of mercenaries?
Maybe I’m too sentimental but sometimes it seems as if Putin’s real goal is to make it so no Russian ever wants to look in a mirror. There’s no honor at work in Muscovy.
Any country allowing its citizens to go fight for the fascists should have all foreign aid frozen.
