Oggi il presidente Zelenskyj si è rivolto al Bundestag sulla ricostruzione dell’Ucraina, ma l’estrema destra AfD e il neonato partito di sinistra BSW hanno boicottato il suo discorso. Come tedesco, mi vergogno profondamente di questo comportamento, soprattutto alla luce dei recenti risultati delle elezioni europee, dove entrambi i partiti hanno ottenuto successi significativi. But this is why democracy demands second-thinking. Look at that picture. In the US I find my fellow citizens come to clarity when they see stark reality. Stark reality is this bright light. Lots of bad ideas look terrible in bright light.
I cannot know because each democracy is different. But I cannot imagine the people liking this look. This is not a confusing, complex, impossible to understand war.
