Vivo nel mio appartamento da studente ormai da quattro mesi e la configurazione WiFi qui mi ha sempre incuriosito. Non sono sicuro se la fonte Internet sia il router WiFi del mio appartamento o i ripetitori sulla terrazza. Dato che mi sono stati forniti nome utente e password WiFi separatamente, non ho mai avuto bisogno di consultare le istruzioni del router. Tuttavia, a causa dei recenti problemi con Internet, ho dovuto risolvere i problemi di configurazione. Ho notato qualcosa di strano: il router non ha una fonte di alimentazione, solo un cavo Ethernet collegato e la presa di alimentazione. Non c’è nemmeno un indirizzo IP associato ad esso. È interessante notare che Internet funziona indipendentemente dal fatto che il router sia connesso o meno. Qualcuno ha idea di come funziona questo meccanismo?

Device is access point and has PoE. Power over Ethernet. So no need for power adapter. There’s probably many access points in the range. So that’s why you’re still connected.

On what device? Surely you can see from your phone or whatever if it’s connected to wifi? Phones will automatically swap to available and saved networks or mobile depending on availability
