La settimana scorsa ho ricevuto questo “ordine di pagamento”. Un importo di 223 euro. È stata comminata una multa per guida troppo veloce nella zona di Zelzate, nelle Fiandre Orientali. Sono rimasto così sorpreso che ho chiamato il “Dienst Verkeersboetes”. E le donne che hanno risposto al telefono mi hanno detto che la cifra è così alta perché non ho pagato le esortazioni, i solleciti. Mi ha detto che la polizia me ne ha mandato uno in ottobre, dicembre e gennaio. Non ho mai ricevuto uno di quei promemoria. Ormai è un dato di fatto che ricevo diciamo quindici multe all’anno e non le pago mai troppo tardi. Infatti li pago immediatamente per evitare questo tipo di problemi. Anch’io avrei sempre pagato uno di questi solleciti se li avessi ricevuti. Mi chiedevo: è utile ricorrere al tribunale di polizia (Politierechtbank Zone Gent)? Esiste la possibilità che la sanzione venga ridotta all’importo originario?

Do you have a company car or car from a leasing company? Or/And did you recently move to another house?
If yes: the leasing company and your car department did not provide the correct address to the police, and you therefore didn’t receive the first few reminders. Only at the “order to pay” stage, the police zone checks where the driver actually lives.
Log-in to https://www.justonweb.be/fines/myfines with your ItsMe and you will see where the previous fines were sent. Probably not your current address. You should fight this with your company and ask them to pay you the difference with the initial fine
