3 mesi fa, la 153a è stata declassata da brigata meccanizzata a brigata di fanteria, vedi [ Due to a lack of vehicles, Ukraine’s 153rd Mechanized Brigade is no longer mechanized](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1bvcxey/due_to_a_lack_of_vehicles_ukraines_153rd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).

      Good news!

      Slightly OT — **Ukraine needs to use more HESCO type barriers.** You see them all the time in photos of US bases in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc. I never see photos of them anywhere in Ukraine, and Ukraine could easily make a version of these themselves. These are instantly unfolding wire and fabric earth frames about 1 meter thick 1.5 to 2 meters high and 10-20 meters long. You just unfold the wireframe enclosure enclosure and quickly fill it with dirt, rocks or concrete using an earthmover, dumptruck of good old fashioned shovels. Quickest, easiest way to make an excellent fortification. Why dig down when you can build up?

      Since the original, HESCO has developed specialized variants:

      * MIL is the basic earth-colored unit for military use. Example dimensions of typical configurations are 1.4 m × 1.1 m × 9.8 m (4.6 ft × 3.6 ft × 32.2 ft) to 2.1 m × 1.5 m × 30 m (6.9 ft × 4.9 ft × 98.4 ft).[^([11])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion#cite_note-11) There is a “recoverable” variant with faster disassembly.[^([12])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion#cite_note-12)
      * FLOODLINE is a single-sized product for civilian flood control, colored green.[^([13])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion#cite_note-13)
      * RAID (Rapid in-theatre Deployment) is deployed from a container, which is dragged along the line of ground where the barrier is to be formed, unfolding up to several hundred metres of barrier ready for filling within minutes.[^([14])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion#cite_note-14)
      * HAB (Hesco Accommodation Bunker) combines a rectangular wall of MIL units with an aluminum roof and a pre-detonation screen.[^([15])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion#cite_note-15)
      * TERRABLOCK, a barrier combining concertainer ballast and metal mesh fencing. The largest “XV” form works as a M50P1 (ASTM F2656) vehicle barrier.[^([16])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesco_bastion#cite_note-16)
      * LOPS (lightweight overhead protection system), a lightweight roof protecting against mortar fire.
      * [Sangar](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sangar_(fortification)) kits consisting of MIL walls, a protective roof, windows, and optional metal support.
