👋 this is a new government – I know it doesn’t matter here but this is one I voted for and have been waiting for 12 years (ever since I could vote, for it) it feels euphoric. And even more euphoric they are continuing our support of Ukraine, like I’ve told everyone who will listen it’s just not an issue for us here **we love you**
I think the good thing is that there was Zero Daylight between the Tories and Labour vis a vis Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧
Mr Healey has a strong record of support for Ukraine, which is great, but also he’s a proponent of increasing UK defence spending and for European NATO members to take things more into their hands, especially after this US election.
As someone who’s looking to join the Royal Marines next year, it’ll be a great encouragement that we’ll have a government that has its priorities straight: increased spending, increased numbers, and ability to project power abroad independent of our American allies if necessary.
That was quick! Well done UK voters and Labour party! 👏
Britain might have to take point for a bit.
