      Yeah but Biden will announce more defensive ($billions) in aid again this week. Does nobody see what a cluster fuck this admin is? Playing games with a lunatic and trying to negotiate is not how you fight a war.

      The restraint and frustration he must keep down as he says this must be so hard to do. I’d just rage and ask them what the fuck are they doing playing these games when there is the opportunity to turn the tide of this war (and probably quite decisively)? Maybe there’s a geopolitical aspect I’m missing, the threats from Pootin may become more real, the alliances with NK and India could become more of an issue, although with these I reckon this is such a time-sensitive issue before the scumbag Putler decides to throw more missiles at children and other indefensible “targets”.

      To me – destroy the Russian bases, maybe that will be enough incentive for India and NK to nope out, leaving Russia pretty much alone again, and establish some air superiority so that things like the missile strike on the hospital never happens again.

      Right on Zelenskyy. Push hard on this issue. This is the key question. This is what will make the biggest impact on allowing Ukrainians to resist. The conversations in my local (USA) Ukrainian households have for the first time broached the subject in negotiating land for peace. It fucking sucks because had Ukraine been given weapons and permission earlier, they wouldn’t be in this situation.

      E: This was not to discredit Zel. I admire him hugely and the whole of the Ukrainian people.

      I don’t think he found it funny by his expression. – And rightfully so. If they laughed just because, that just *isn’t* the time to do so. This is a very serious matter.
      They should’ve stood up and applauded to make a statement instead.

      I know NATO and those people take this seriously, but that was a way, way wrong reaction to this.

      He may have done it for comic effect tootoo, I do not know.

      We are basically playing with them, laughing at them while they struggling for survival. In a year or two they will give up, we will do a solid condolence on tv speech and will move on. I’m so disappointed at our government that I struggle to believe how Zelensky remains calm in a situation like this, I’d shout the hell out of them ( but perhaps that’s why I’m not a very good mediator )

      Christ, he’s spelling it out like a god damn child and still these politicians quiver with fears of eScAlAtioN at every god damn meeting. Spineless pathetic pussies who still do not grasp the kind of enemy staring them down while the russians literally laugh at their collective weakness.

      Zelensky is a lot more calm and professional about it then I ever would be.

      I cannot understand this mindset.

      Do they not have families of their own? Siblings? Parents? Children? Heck, even pets, homes?

      Can they not for one instant imagine the anguish and grief if their own loved ones were taken away? And not just taken – murdered. Murdered, when the force capable of saving them existed and was available but the use was denied.

      Can they not understand the fury that builds up? Just because you don’t know the names? Of course, even if Zelensky reads out the names, “And so now you know them”, it doesn’t change this alien mindset.

      You don’t have to know them to feel their pain be motivated to act. Anybody with a shred of decency and humanity would have done so.

      It is ‘easy’ to ignore soldiers being killed, right? Ah yes, they were heroes who died to save their nation, the leaders might say. Sure. It is a tragedy, and we’ll ignore for a second that the only reason their deaths were ‘necessary’ was because of the failure from the West to act.

      But I’ve seen videos of dead parents holding their dead babies, beloved pets in agony from fatal shockwave injuries but nobody to put them out of their misery, crying for the humans to fix them, and I remember the faces in Bucha, Mariupol, and a thousand thousand horrors that we thought left behind in the second world war.

      How it can happen today is only through the negligence and deliberate betrayal of the West. We can all see it. Everybody knows it. Sure, Russia is the one perpetrating it, but America is the one encouraging it. They have become co-conspirators in the murders. And they laughed about it.

      I will long remember this video. Even though there’s no blood or war, that laughter, It broke me.

      Ukraine has engine and jet technology. Do you think they would be able to produce their own missiles and skip all this approval shit? Or do they just not have the know-how to produce cruise missiles?

      I can not understand why they do not just “allow” them to use the weapons given to defend themselves properly? What is the intention? Would they also defend themselves like that? I guess not, especially the US which most likely would do a full scale sweep against the enemy. So why do they support a country but do not allow to use the weapon at its full capacity? That is like giving a starving person a full plate of dinner but they are only allowed to heat the outer rim of the plate.

      Question: Why not bomb the Russian bases? Why does he have to wait for approval from another country? Is it because Ukraine is using weapons and ammunition provided by other countries? Or is there some other geo-political bullshit that I don’t know?
