Ciao, tra qualche settimana sarò nel tuo splendido Paese e di recente mia madre è riuscita a rintracciare il nome della città da cui proveniva mio nonno. In realtà abbiamo trovato due località diverse menzionate:
Da alcuni vecchi appunti in un diario, vediamo menzionato Reindig e che si trova vicino a Vienna, ma non ottengo alcun risultato quando cerco Reindig.
Nella loro petizione per la nazionalizzazione degli USA, vediamo menzionato Aikadeck Austria Etuechary. Purtroppo non ottengo alcun risultato neanche per questo.
La mia domanda è: queste città ora hanno un nome diverso? Mi piacerebbe molto attraversarle, se possibile.
MODIFICA – ho appena ricevuto uno screenshot dei suoi documenti di immigrazione! O meglio, di quelli di suo padre. Sembra che suo padre sia nato l’8 ottobre 1875.

Reindig could be spelled wrongly, the second one is for sure no town or village in Austria
Im Sure those Two exist but are spelled wrong
Maybe you missed some letters in the names in the documents…
You could upload photos of the relevant words / documents, so we can check.
Are these handwritten notes and applications? Can it be that you do not read them right?
We need to get the streamer geschriebene Geschichte on that, if you can provide the original document

Reindig reminds me a bit of “Raiding”, which is a town somewhat close to Vienna in what is now Burgenland, birthplace of Franz Liszt. It also reminds me of “Reindlg.” which was and still is a street in Vienna.
I looked at Google Maps and there is “Sitzenberg-Reidling” in Lower Austria not too far from Vienna. Search for “3454 Reidling”
There is a village called Reidling -Sitzenberg
Maybe weidling near Klosterneuburg?
Just to add to what the others have said already, -ing is a very common suffix for names of towns in (eastern) Austria and seems more likely than -ig, so probably you’re looking for a name akin to Reinding rather than Reindig.
