      And yet they keep coming.
When was the last time a foreign power essentially ruined their own country trying to win a relatively unimportant war that they started? Argentina in 1982 comes to mind on a much smaller scale.

This is friggin insanity on the part of Russia!

Russia massively switching and converting into a war time economy, can only be sustained for so long in this type of situation.

Essentially, Russia’s primary economic focus is now increasingly to:

      ————————————

      1) Produce weapons/shells/equipment,

      2) Ship them,

      3) Then have all that produced wealth get converted into pieces of metal (and also have their male population get converted into broken down rotting biological matter in the meantime)…

      4) Without any return in wealth generation for Russia (other than some washing machines!).

      ————————————

Again, you can only sustain that for so long, before some pretty serious negative effects begin rippling through the entire economy.

It would be different if say Russia was selling those weapons to foreign countries, and those foreign countries were then using it to generate a benefit for themselves (like a stabilized and protected region so that their country can grow, prosper, and conduct business), and then in turn they would have more money/wealth to come back to Russia and continuously buy yet more weapons, to maintain their stocks.

But that’s NOT what’s happening here, not to mention how increasingly, more and more nations are greatly REDUCING their weapons purchases from Russia, due to a lot of complaints about quality and ineffectiveness.

      ————————————

      So ya:

Russia’s primary productive output is simply being rapidly shipped, then rapidly broken up and fragmented all over the Ukraine countryside.

This is NOT a model that will sustain their nation, or be good for them.

Is it russia becoming more desperate and throwing more stuff at ukraine?

Or is it ukraine becoming more and more effective at taking out russian soldiers and equipment?

    5. May was the first month hitting 30k+ casualties (1000 per day) and immediately nearly hit 40k. It’s not dropped below 35k ever since.
