Ukraine’s military is extremely smart and have things under control, this strategy has most certainly been cleared with allies command. They are not risking any backlash from Western governments in the midst of this operation, they have been informed.
I think we all agree with this, unfortunately for the last two years the west has sent Russia a lot of mixed signals.
This assertion would’ve saved a lot of Ukrainian lives, even Russian lives, if it had been made in 2022.
And Ukraine has all the reasons to do and response in kind, Russia💩 has given reason🤌🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Maybe Ukraine is gathering chips to use at the bargaining table? Maybe they can trade Kursk for Crimea, Belgorod for Luhansk etc. Russia is not going to give up anything without getting something back.
