      Looks a bit too good to be true, I’m not sure how they could realistically push that far in the north without an uncontested road, they’d need to have secured that town nearer the border first.

      Or at least not push that far and sustain it

      We are at the point of several days into this attack and it is enough time that Russia will start to have some success in gathering reinforcements, reorganizing and creating defensible positions.

      As the element of surprise is over I am thinking that forward progress is going to be slow from this point forward unless a Russian position collapses somewhere. I had been hoping UA forces would make the E38 but now I think that is a less likely proposition.

      It will be interesting to see if Ukraine attempts to consolidate what they have taken or if they eventually pull back or at least reduce the size of the position.

      I mean, I don’t blame Russians because they didn’t think it could be possible. Not stopping for raping AND pillaging, even for a bit? It’s unthinkable to their war doctrine and culture. So for them, a fast moving spearhead with an unknown goal that doesn’t take at least a few washing machines and toilets is so abstract.

      It’s a big W for Ukraine one way or another, either they just go back like Mongols did, while achieving PR and destabilizing the region, or they take hold of important targets and then see what’s next.

      It’s been 800 years and Russia still can only throw people at front, and never considers that someone might just raid their rear, I guess nothing REALLY changes, does it?

      Keep heading North till Moscow is in missile range, or just seriously f’up their stuff. Maybe find a S-400 and see how far you can make them go.

      Isn’t that a Ukrainian name? It ends in “chuk”. I’m surprised the Muscovites didn’t rename it to Kavchog or something.
