Not in my family. We’ll throw the leftovers in the bin and leave the dirty dishes in the sink if there’s no room in the dishwasher.

No. Not in my family, at least.
Leftovers are always scraped off and dishes are either washed, put in the dishwasher or left to soak if needed.

It’s very individual, but leaving leftovers? I’d say no.
My husband comes from a “dishes in sink”-family while I come from a “stack on countertop beside sink”-family. We have some silly clashes about it, but the leftovers are ALWAYS either put plastic boxes in the fridge or in the trash if too little to keep.
“Later” usually turns into “never” in an ADHD household. So definitely not the preferred solution for anyone, but sometimes happens 😅

Leaving your dishes in your sink is not that uncommon – but with leftovers like that.. that isn’t normal.. anywhere.
If my kids did that I’ll leave it on their pillow.

Inevitably when these type of posts come up, someone just trying to seek an xplanation of some unfamilar behavor through national culture (or something).
No, it’s just the way this family does things. Go next door or another Danish family member and they will do it another way.

Alot of places you just use a dishwasher so the children become lazy like that
I tell my husband to stop at least twice every month. Sometimes I just put it on his bed. It’s a tradition that when someone ought to take ownership but doesn’t it’ll be put at ones bed.
It’s different. People argue about it like crazy sometimes.
My husband leaves leftovers like this because he was brought up with a mother who did everyting for him so he doesn’t always know how to make decisions on behalf of the family. Even after he moved away from home. Some leave them because of the extra workload and they are tired, sick, busy, whatever.
Definitely most common to scrape it first.
We never leave food out like this. I think lots of teenagers do it when they first move away from home. But it’s certainly not “Danish culture”.

Det er klamt. Og her om sommeren tiltrækker det hurtigt spyfluer. Skrab mad rester af i affalds beholder og i opvaskemaskine med det samme. Har man ikke opvaskemaskine så skyl det af og sæt hen til opvasken senere.

Damn if i left my plates in the sink or on the counter my mom would make me do the dishes for a week. And we are as Danish as you get.
