Sudzha (Russian: Су́джа) is a town and the administrative center of Sudzhansky District in Kursk Oblast, Russia, located on the Sudzha and Olyoshnya Rivers 105 kilometers (65 mi) southwest of Kursk, the administrative center of the oblast. It has a population of 5,127 people. It is the natural gas exchange feeder where the Trans-Siberian pipeline meets the Brotherhood pipeline. The town was attacked and captured by Ukrainian forces during the August 2024 Kursk Oblast incursion.

They definitely do not have enough troops there, if they’re publicly saying this.
There’s a joke: Putin asks Stalin what he would do about this invasion.
Stalin draws on his WW2 experience and says: “Get lots of American aid, equipment and ammunition, give it to the Ukrainians as the vanguard troops and you’ll be fine.” Putin nods at the sage advice, thinks for a moment and then says: “Yes that happened, but what do I do about it?”
