It’s virtue signaling by the very left. Now I am rather on the left side myself and m sympathetic for the Palestinian people but complete hate towards Israel and no critique of Hamas or islamism by the left is hypocritical and dumb.
That’s what I’ve been saying lmao, you hit the nail on the head. People will just blindly support anything to fit into the crowd. A blind herd.
People can acknowledge the suffering of palestinian people without supporting hamas.
What’s wrong with it?
Nuance: OP understands none.
Most people don’t know anything about Palestine or the conflict, they just repeat what the get fed from social media.
A: because it’s a free country.
B: These people love to be controversial
Not to mention the hate you get from these people if you also feel empathy towards the Israelis
Their pronouns in gaza would be was/were
Queers for Palestine is so much cognitive dissonance… This movement is not worth a second of anybody’s attention.
I’m not ashamed of being openly gay. I am, however, ashamed about this bunch.
Same in the UK.
People are naive and some are keen to appear “moral” and show their support to “la cause du jour”…
The fact that one of their causes actually despises another of their causes flies over their little heads like a moth heading towards the lightbulb…
OP you need to dive a bit more into Middle-Eastern history
I think there is an important distinction to be made: Hama’s isn’t Palestine. They control solely the Gaza strip, where they were indeed voted into power. There haven’t been any votes since then.
Now it is impossible to know what exactly they want to convey with this Palestine flag (as a sidenote, Hamas have their own flag), but if they want to support self-determination for the Palestine people this flag could be used for that. The support of self-determination has historically been a part of the broad leftist movements.
There are of course some weird people who’ve cheered on Hamas. But AFAIK they’re a minority, so I’d give those who’ve put up the flag the benefit of the doubt.
Exactly why they don’t eat and drink indoors. Unacceptable
Doesn’t mean they support Hamas, mean they support palestinians through the war and believe in the independance of the palestinian state, and also support lgbt rights. Doesn’t mean they hate on israeli either. Doesn’t mean they don’t condemn october 7th.
Nothing incoherent imo. I don’t think a lot of people interpret “palestine+lgbt flag = trans mental illness” too but i might be wrong, seems like a bit of a stretch to me tbh.
Tell me you habe no idea of the conflict in the middle east with out telling me you have no idea of the conflict in the middle east.
Sure Palestinia in general is not LGBTQ friendly but that’s not the part that is uniting the two, is that they are both part of a minority group that is facing hardship.
Also if you are intellectually honest as you claim to be you might understand that suffering goes beyond political ideologies.
