Question: are the trench networks the Ukraine is taking equally valuable to defend against attack from the Russian direction? I’m assuming probably not, if the Russians used the surrounding geography. But given the corruption and incompetence they’ve shown so far, it could be that they just plonked them a set distance from the border without really thinking much about it, indeed that’s how they appear often on the map.
