Russia has not taken the city yet though.
Also, this does not mean that Ukraine is doomed. Ukraine has lost and gained several cities and areas over the duration of the war.
I am desperate for that last straw that will break ruzziàs back. Everything but everything points to the collapse of the evil empire – the economy, the demographic situation, the damaged oil refineries, captured gas line, captured territory and conscripts, f-16s that finally arrived, more artillery and ammunition, the stricter sanctions, etc . So when it will break?
If Ukraine can give up small territorial gains for massive kill ratios in donbas, that’s a good result right now.
Ad long as there isnt any big breaks of the line this will just continue as it is.. if they make a break for Odesa or Kyiv.. Poland France inbound.
I lived in Pokrovsk while I was in the army there. I visited there several times as a small time journalist prior to that. I have a lot of happy memories there of people I’ve spent time with.
It’s just another city that is about to be crushed under russias boot….
