Milizia georgiana durante la guerra russo-turca del 1877-78

An interesting story I read on the Bulgarian internet. SO 1877-78 the Russian army comes over to liberate Bulgaria from the Ottoman Empire. Bachkovo monastery (historically Georgian monastery), was under threat by the local retreating muslims who were considering to burn it and steal everything, they did this with the moanstery during the ottoman invasion in the 14th centruy. So the Russian army command send the Georgian detachment to guard the monastery. Well the Georgians were pretty convincing and nobody dared touch the monastery. There is unexpectidly lots of Georgian history in Bulgaria.
