I feel like Belarus, with the double-talk by Lukashenko and now this are trying to lull Ukraine into thinking that they aren’t a participant in this war, but then, when Russia needs a few extra battalions to assist in Kursk or to create a new front to put Ukraine on a back-foot, will help out. This cost Russia a single drone to earn a headline – very cheap.

Lukashenko: now is your chance to get out under Russia’s thumb. Grow a spine and join the Good Guys in fighting Russia.

As interesting as this is after [Luka’s comments the other day](https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2024/08/27/7472111/), it seems more like this drone had a failure of its guidance software and they lost control of it. They shut down its comms for 20 minutes then it was shot down, which sounds very much like Russia communicated with Belarus and advised them to shoot it down. I wouldn’t put too much faith behind this being a sign of trouble in potato town. Luka loves Russia even more than Putin does.

Now Russia can justify an invasion of Belarus

Ballpark, how easy would it be to bribe Lukashenko?
I can easily see that the number of workers in arms factories today, working on something that will land on Russian heads, is in the 6 figures. Military production is not mom and pop, ya know?
So how much is it worth to Belarus, to mass its troops westward? Ballpark.
That would be the movie. And this Lukashenko figure will get played by a Sean Connery type.
The schoolmaster of Minsk, they called him.
Come on Belarus. You have no need for this blood on your hands.

I’m primarily surprised by that fact that they can actually hit anything.
