How realistic is the idea of CDU veering towards the left after the elections to form a democratic government? I understand that would be the shitshow of shitshows but still democratic and pro-European… (Unstable, yeah, but “pro stability” 😀 Hey that’s something…).

Why the downvotes lol, I only asked.

Before the federal elections of 2025 – there is time

Proving himself to be a master strategist indeed – not only did they manage to export Zhirinovsky but Yanayev, Zyuganov and the communists’ brand of revanchism as well. Truly astounding, as well as astoundingly stupid on voters’ part.

Could anyone give me an inquiry into Wagenknecht-AfD relations?

This doesn’t surprise me. Migration is such a big issue and hasn’t worked out in Germany. Incumbent parties haven’t done anything about the problems it has caused. Only a matter of time before AFD wins in a bigger state.

Have the major parties tried to appeal to voters’ concerns or are they doubling down on ignoring it?

Typically foreigners ask how safe it is to travel there, so here’s some data:

In Saxony, each year 5 out of every 100.000 people are physically assaulted by right wing extremists in a manner that is so strong that police is involved and records it in the police statistics.

This violence primarily target foreigners, which make up 5,7 % of the population (5.700 people for every 100.000).

Therefore, each year, no more than 5 in every 5700 foreigners are assaulted by right wing extremists (probably a bit less, since they also assault jews, muslims, disabled people, sorbians, politicians, journalist, social workers, …).

So if you are a foreign traveler, the risk is manageable since you won’t spend a lot of time there.

Insults, spitting and refusal to provide normal services are more common, but this typically don’t put your health at risk so it’s also a manageable risk.

Also, it will depend on the time, circumstances, location etc. Most of these attacks happen by groups, so you are more safe if you stay away of such groups and are not alone.

    7. Does anybody know if the AfD in Saxony was talking anything about the Sorbs?

I know there were recorded assaults, both physical and verbal but do they say anything about systematic changes?
