In August 2024, russia continued to suffer significant equipment losses.

A record 1,539 UAVs were shot down, surpassing the previous record of 1,348 in July.

Another record was set for special equipment*: 278 systems were either destroyed or
rendered unusable, breaking the previous record of 267 set in June 2024.
July also saw high losses with 265 such systems taken out.

Large numbers of artillery systems and vehicles & fuel tanks were also destroyed,
narrowly missing new records that were just set in July.

Artillery systems: 1,517 in August, compared to 1,520 in July 2024.

Vehicles & fuel tanks: 2,065 in August, compared to 2,103 in July 2024.

The number of russian casualties also increased, reaching 36,810 in August — just
shy of the record 38,940 in May 2024. This equates to an average of 1,187 casualties per day.

*Special equipment includes electronic warfare systems and radars,
as well as engineering equipment like mine-clearing vehicles and bridge-layers.
It also covers support and maintenance vehicles needed to keep other assets,
such as tanks and armored vehicles, functioning.

By any metric, this is a colossal amount of equipment & personnel that has been destroyed !

Just imagine if all the resources that had gone into producing all of it had been put to good use rather than squandered on inflicting death & destruction on your neighbours.
