Interesting to see how those governments that have transferred wealth inappropriately from the lower classes to the ruling class balk at holding Putin’s criminal class accountable. BRICS seems to be more of the “liars” club than anything else.

Modern West was created on anti-despotic narratives (which defeated slavery, monarchism, imperialism).

During Cold War, to fight with USSR despotism, West needed help of autocratic regimes, therefore it has begun to compromise own fundamentals ideals.

After Cold War such compromises (including of idea of peaceful coexistence and cooperation with autocracies) began slowly devour the West.

Subverting everything created by West.

For example, right now substantial part of “anti-imperialists” essentially defending imperialism and autocraticism.

Financial corruption aside, I still hate the term “Global South”, despite it being a replacement for the term “Third World”, because it still implies that “civilization”, financial stability, and relatively non-corrupt, democratic governments lie in the “North” even if that north is metaphorical. It’s just a further reinforcement of the “North is better than South” trope perpetuated by certain map projections.
