Why the fuck would Mongolia risk arresting the tyrant of one of their biggest neighbors and a nuclear power?
Ah yes, so the country with 3 million people is supposed to risk open war with a nuclear state because Ukraine, thousands of kilometers away, told them so.
You people live in a state of such a delusional reality it’s insane.

That is not surprising. If you look at Mongolia on the map, it is surrounded by Russia to the north and China to the West, and is not a part of any alliance. There is no way they would arrest Putin and literally be encircled by two unfriendly authoritarians regimes.
Not to mention that even if Putin is arrested in Mongolia, there is no way to extradite him anywhere without crossing Russian or Chinese airspace.
On a side note, arresting Putin won’t automatically end the war. Russia will most likely invoke the clause of presidential incapacitation, at which point the prime minister becomes acting president. And then it’s anyone’s guess what will happen next.

To be fair to Mongolia, they kinda really can’t arrest Putin, purely on common sense reasons… since they are fairly dependant on both Russia with it’s petroleum import and trade with China, particularly in the minerals section… so yeah…, i don’t even think they could have even denied him access to the country, for both reason mentioned above and other rather obvious reasons if Putin had invited himself over…
Putin knows this and it’s quite literally the only reason he traveled there and so does everyone else in the world, so this is basically emperors new clothes act from Putin, meaningless showing off
Mongolia would have been perfectly fine just saying, ”we know we should but we can’t, so we won’t, even though we would want to” Anyone with two braincells to rub together will understand this but here we are, politcians being all hum hum puff puff important, rules and regulations, hepr derp

They owe Ukraine a letter or visit, but yeah… Every commenter seem to understand their position geographically.
It’s halfway a mission for some secret mission agency where Mongolia says: “We will be nice” and then Jimmy Blond hooks the bastard to a skyhook and fly him out to a carrier.

Mongolia is smarter than the country X because it aims to benefit as middleman for China as gas provision service.

Understandable, putin came bearing gifts ( bribes ). In the multipolar world, there is no such thing as rule of law anyway.
