    1. Is Belarus affraid that Ukraine would also invade their country if they remain with sided with Russia? Or is their ‘leader’ just an opportunists, like any other politician?

Not necessarily a big deal. There’s no reason for Russian drones to be in Belarusian airspace on purpose. If the drones were in Belarusian airspace then it’s reasonable for the Belarusians to think they might have gone off course somehow and about to kill Belarusians by mistake. So shooting them down is a reasonable precaution, given that drones are unmanned and fairly replaceable. Even Putin would prefer to lose two drones than to accidentally kill Belarusians, as that could strain relations otherwise and the last thing he needs right now is civil unrest in Belarus pressuring Lukashenko to disalign from him.

Lukashenka is now sitting in a windowless basement, sweating profoundly.

Likely because they were, as reported, Shaheds with explosive warheads that, if something went wrong, might’ve posed a danger to Belarusians down below. But, if they were unarmed reconnaissance Russian drones transiting Belarusian airspace on the way to observing/spying on Ukraine, they probably would’ve just let them be.
