Anastasia Trofimova, che in precedenza ha prodotto "documentari" per Russia Today (noto anche come RT, il braccio di propaganda dello stato russo il cui staff è stato incriminato per manipolazione clandestina dei social media occidentali all’inizio di questa settimana), ha debuttato con il suo nuovo film Russi in guerra.
Girato nell’Ucraina occupata durante l’invasione illegale della Russia, il film descrive la prospettiva approvata dal Cremlino sulle attività dell’esercito russo e fornisce una piattaforma alle stesse menzogne astoriche che cercano di legittimare il genocidio degli ucraini da parte della Russia.
Nel produrre il film, Anastasia Trofimova ha trascorso mesi in Ucraina, vivendo con l’esercito russo, che (ridicolmente) sostiene non fosse sponsorizzato dallo stato russo. Perfino l’esistenza stessa del film, che ha debuttato al Festival del cinema di Venezia, ha l’effetto di legittimare la lunga lista di crimini della regista in violazione della legge ucraina.
Questa propaganda di riciclaggio di reputazione è stata coprodotta dai contribuenti canadesi: 340.000 dollari del budget del film sono stati forniti da finanziamenti pubblici canadesi.
Le dichiarazioni di Trofimova durante la copertura stampa del film:
"Cominciano a combattere perché hanno perso qualcuno. E forse è una questione di vendetta."
"Non ci sono andato con pregiudizi. Ovviamente, avevo tutti questi stereotipi nella mia testa che ho preso leggendo i media russi e occidentali. Ma non ho giudicato."
Un soldato nel film nega apertamente le accuse secondo cui le truppe russe stanno commettendo crimini di guerra. Trofimova afferma che "non ho visto alcun crimine del genere."
"Penso che nei media occidentali, è a questo punto che vengono associati i soldati russi, perché non c’erano altre storie. Questa è un’altra storia. Questo è il mio tentativo di vedere attraverso la nebbia della guerra e di vedere le persone per le persone."

Time to use this film for good and weed out everyone in Canada that supported this film being made, then investigate their personal finances.

Imagine a white mirror reverse of this in a Russian Film festival? A pro Ukrainian view documentary? All involved in it who were in Russia would be tracked down arrested and long term jailed…if not disappeared.
And here we allow this. How? It’s like a giving their side of the story “Nazi’s Cry Too” documentary debuting in America while Nazi Germany is rampaging through Europe.

TVO also submitted a request to feature an interview with a Canadian fighting in Ukraine. I’m waiting to hear back from TVO but he will most likely no longer be willing to participate after their decision to support the whitewashing of the war criminals he is fighting against.
I would love to track her movements in this film and see how many times she had to close her eyes in order to not bear witness to any war crimes.
