Here in Romania the prices of electricity, gas and food are the same, or higher then the European everege. A good salary is around 1500 euros, this is a midle clas working person, with superior education and maybe corporate hired. The problem is the state and taxes, 45% of everiting we win is going to corupt state politicians and theyr friends firms 😉

– Insurance for car: 150€ / year
– Insurance for home: no need for rented homes
– Public transport pass: 24€/ month

We have same groceries prices as western european countries. Service sector is a bit cheaper since we have lower salaries.

In Italy around 3000 euros after taxes would be considered a good salary, some say 2200,2500.

Compared to cost of living in Stockholm, salaries aren’t that great. 40-45k SEK is like okay for a single person but you need more if you have family.

Averages are always dangerous to work with when it comes to money and the making thereof, give me a good median and then we’ll see more proper numbers.

One thing this article fails to mention is the varying cost of employment due to taxation. For instance, if an employee in Rome makes €40k/year net salary, their total cost of hiring to the employer is probably around €100k/year due to all the taxes and social security deductions.

A 5000 net euro salary is useless if rent is 4000 euro for example and food is 1000

Poland; same prices if groceries as Western Europe eg; U.K. English teacher ears on hand around 1500€ depending on school and longevity of teaching. To rent a flat in Warsaw-2 bed around 800 € per month. Crazy!
