100 anni fa oggi (Giornata nazionale della Catalogna) l’architetto catalano Antoni Gaudí fu arrestato e mandato in prigione per aver parlato in catalano alla polizia. Aveva 72 anni.

I used to live and work close to Reus, where Gaudí was born, and I had the chance to visit his home, the church that inspired him, and the museum dedicated to him there.

He was a genius, and his architecture is just phenomenal. Reus is a very Catalan town with a rich history and heritage, and you can feel that it when you walk its streets. It certainly was ingrained within Gaudí and he was a proud Catalan.

I had the chance to visit the Sagrada Familia, but that place is wild – there’s so many tourists.
