Washington’s rhetoric seems to say they are counting their eggs a little early here. Unless they have some intel that the Russians are about to fall apart soon, maybe they should focus on the task at hand (eg supplying the weapons and strike privileges Ukraine says it desperately needs) before calling “inevitabilities” on the country’s future
Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t NATO membership require the prospective member to not be engaged in a territorial dispute – let alone be at war?
Does Blinken have some intel, or some plan he’s not sharing, to end the war in Ukraine’s favour, once and for all?
Don’t get me wrong, I desperately want Ukraine to join NATO and the EU, it’s good for Ukraine and good for the organisations in question. It’s bad for Ruzzia, which makes it even better.
But man, am I ever sick of these platitudes.
