This definitely should be dealt with for once, I really hate those scammers calling almost up to 3 times a day, like no i do not want to change insurance go away

How do you get this? I’m getting a call maybe once a year.

Stop posting your phone number online, remove it from all social networks, don’t share any personal information to unknowns, don’t send CV to recruiters in India, blacklist those numbers on your phone, get a new phone number as last resort.

In addition to the other suggestions, make sure through your provider you have spam calls blocked. That has really helped me with my landline from Swisscom. I get almost none now.

Don’t answer it if you don’t know the number, if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail or send an email.

If you don’t answer their call your number is flagged and you’re then not “picked” for as many call campaigns

The agents only have a certain amount of time, they’re not going to waste their autodiallers on numbers that don’t get answered

Save as much numbers that might call you (kid’s school, doctors etc.).

Then just don’t pick up the phone anymore for unknown numbers. There will be some real ones but they’ll send an sms if it’s urgent or an email/letter.

    7. It’s frustrating, but it feels like we just have no central place to report incidents like that.

Meanwhile, in Austria we had this for decades (RTR is a central authority, handling everything telecommunications and more):

      [https://www.rtr.at/TKP/was_wir_tun/telekommunikation/konsumentenservice/meldestelle_rufnummernmissbrauch/Beschwerde_Meldung.de.html](https://www.rtr.at/TKP/was_wir_tun/telekommunikation/konsumentenservice/meldestelle_rufnummernmissbrauch/Beschwerde_Meldung.de.html)

And eventually the problem became big enough to cause legislation to draft something in coorperation with those people, and it will become mandatory for any carrier to implement this:

      [https://www.rtr.at/9_novelle_kem-v](https://www.rtr.at/9_novelle_kem-v) (law)

[https://www.rtr.at/TKP/aktuelles/veroeffentlichungen/veroeffentlichungen/empfehlung_zur_techn._umsetzung_5a_kem-v_2009.de.html](https://www.rtr.at/TKP/aktuelles/veroeffentlichungen/veroeffentlichungen/empfehlung_zur_techn._umsetzung_5a_kem-v_2009.de.html) (RTRs suggestion for implementing the legal requirements)

Is this the solution? Not 100% but this is going to reduce spam calls that originate from abroad and are spoofing local numbers drastically.

Meanwhile around here. we pay quite a log for a phone contract just so our complaints are turned down by swisscom and co with a “sorry, nothing can be done” apology.

I wonder if a few more independent authorities that take our complaints would be helpful here too… afaik SEKO is responsible, no?

i treat phone calls as i do people approaching me on street – if i don’t know you i don’t care what you have to say

      iphone: Settings/Phone/Block Unknown Callers

    9. I have the same problem and I ended up by installing an app that allows me to block numbers patterns:

      +4121589…
      +4122589…
      +4124589…

      And soo on.

After a while the numbers of calls that I received per week were finally reduced from 30/40 to just 5 or even 0.

      This is the [App](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cuiet.blockCalls)

Hint: block the app acces to internet to avoid ads and secure your privacy

Whenever i answer those, i just don’t hear anything, what are they trying to do?

I usually answer and always let the person calling me to start talking, but they never do
