I know people are used to the “GUR” abbreviation but reading the full name of the organisation – “Головне управління розвідки” – made me realise that “GUR” seems to be a russification of the name (there’s no “g” sound in the Ukrainian “Головне”).

Their [Wiki entry](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Directorate_of_Intelligence_(Ukraine)) also mostly uses the “HUR” abbreviation.

Maybe we should all also switch to that? It worked with city names, after all.
