I’m all in for this! Very few things would make me happier than seeing all of the tobacco companies shutting down for lack of business!

With vaping getting popular we see people smoking in place they would have never smoked before, on train, in public buildings, in restaurants etc …

I’m all in for a wider ban on smoking in public place, especially in terrasse, you can’t even enjoy eating outside without being annoyed by people smoking next to you.

I’m surprised smoking is so common in Europe.

The anti smoking campaigns have actually been working for the most part in the USA.

All though younger people have found vapes but even that has been in decline.

      But that’s just my experience.

Time for action! I live in Hungary and a lot of young people are smokers. Many smoke those disposable e-cigs (Elf Bar, Vuse, Poco, and many other names) that are *de jure* banned, but I still see people selling those things on the street.

The day it will be completely banned, I will be ecstatic.

      Edit: Triggered smokers :3

Can we just help the kids by fixing and reforming the education system instead of further censoring their environment into a sterile prison?

    7. Wtf, you can’t just ban everything, you need to give feasable alternatives

Can we do the same with alcohol or that one isn’t okay because it’s something most redditors enjoy?

Hopefully I’ll be dead from lung cancer before the entire world economy collapses because obese people are far more of a liability than smokers.

    10. My body my choice. EU should f off, ban smoking in the streets if you want to. But designated spaces? No. Blah blah blah burden on blah blah. Then tax it according to this burden. Then go away.

(ps. I don’t smoke cause it’s most idiotic narcotic in history)

I don’t smoke but I’m totally against it! There are really important matters to get taken care of, like getting rid of neoliberal experimental ideologies most blatantly visible in the effects of austerity and social inequality, and why not also regulate predatory aspects or economic policies that only generate grief between member states. EU is in shambles and they want to keep people from smoking cigarettes…

    12. A lot of guys (and gals) have started using snus and tobacco-free nicotine pouches instead, at least in Finland. Especially those with a more blue-collar background. Like **A LOT**.

I get banning old school ciggys from public spaces – second hand smoking is real and is provably dangerous. But stuff like iqos or vapes…? They literally cause zero harm to second hand “inhalers”. They sure as hell are annoying, but in the same way a heavily perfumed person or something would be. You can’t just ban stuff because it annoys some people

God, I wish. I had to swipe left so many times because a girl was a smoker. Yuck.

Living alone is like smoking a pack a day. Is the government going to give me a woman, then, if they care so mich about us? How about housing?

    16. As someone who smokes 1-2 cigars a year on special occasions: how about you fuck off with your paternalism.

    17. I like the UK idea on this, which is to increase the minimum age to smoke by 1 year, every year. Doesn’t affect current smokers at all but will prevent young people who already can’t smoke from smoking
