Selfies? I know they need to dumb this stuff down but people are familiar with the technology as that how most people unlock their phones.
I am against it. I don’t want anyone having my biometric data.
If the organisation gets hacked and passwords are stolen then I can just change my password.
I can’t change my face or fingerprint or gait or whatever.
That compromises every other account that uses that biometric data.
Haha. I could never verify Revolut because of stupid selfie requirement.
“Sorry – your face does not look like that in the picture. Transaction declined. Please contact your nearest branch in person so a teller can physically verify your face”.
Trust AIB to unnecessarily complicate something that works fine and replace it with something stressful.
Revolut and others do this already. I assume it’s standard security software
They still use card readers? My word, what luddites
It does, but it’s highly complex in that you need to be a certain distance almost exactly and same with angle, it took longer than it should have and I’d think I’m quite capable in that department
Sorry, biometrics need to be stored on the user’s device on something like apple’s secure enclave. Anything else is subpar.
One of the airlines makes you do this too no? I’m thinking Ryanair for some reason?
Oh that’s why I see that annoying Jess Kelly ad everywhere.
You guys are still using card readers?
Seems like they’re solving a problem by creating another one.
Tbf, as annoying as the card readers are, it’s bloody secure.
I’m not sure this is anyway secure.
Fucking card reader almost lost me my house. Was in spain when our offer was accepted and i couldnt transfer a large amount of cash without a card reader. Dumb ass 20 year old has-been tech.
