It’s one thing to beg for yourself and be cordial about it. I guess it’s an open secret wich group is being targeted here and I honestly am for it.

I don’t care if your way of life is different. Organised begging and all the things around it have no place here.

    2. “this ban then became unenforceable following a ruling by the Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2021”. Sound like a good reason to dump the relationship with the echr. If that crazy ruling on ‘the hot summer violated human rights” wasn’t enough.

    3. Begging as temporary solution -> yes,
Begging as permanent full-time activity -> absolutely no.

However there is group of people travelling between cities to not be familiarized amongst citizens.

    4. I remember the blessed times, not so long ago when it was totally verboten to beg in Geneva.

I remember the blessed time when cops would seize any money made by begging.

      I pray it comes back.

Does “disloyal and misleading” include the “refugees” who were Syrian a few years ago that are now magically Ukrainian and speak neither language? Glad parliament can agree that this group of conmen (and women…) need some legal reprimand…

Switzerland has a very good social system so that absolutely nobody has to beg. So people who are out on the streets begging anyway are doing so for dishonest reasons, such as drug use. We have to help these people and part of this help consists of not offering opportunities to promote such activities. This may be incomprehensible to these people, but we as a society are responsible for ensuring that these people do not fall even lower. And that is precisely why these restrictions are needed.

Oh my god… people can just ignore them like they ignore every other societal issue that doens’t affect them.

“I f*cking HATE seeing poor people in MY streets” go find some empathy…
