it is truly difficult to explain someone non-swiss about the legislation regarding ending your life.
The people making this pod have been warned a few times that it is not compatible with Swiss law. I guess now they will find out what that means.
I believe assisted suicide is an important thing to preserve, but there are already mechanisms for this that are compatible with the law, so I’m not sure what these pod people are thinking.
There already exists Exit, it is open to Swiss citizens under certain circumstances. There exists Dignitas, which also offers accompanied suicide. Both of them work hard to prevent unnecessary suicides.
Sarco on the other hand aggressively promotes its machine, offers the service to a foreigner and even invites the press for the event (https://www.volkskrant.nl/buitenland/zelfdodingscapsule-zelfdoding-zwitserland~bda029ab/). They deserve some pushback. This is not how things work in Switzerland.
