AMI can be driven from the age of 17, however, full EDT (Essential Driver Training) will need to be completed including theory and practical lessons. Provisional drivers must also be accompanied when driving AMI.
So who’s it aimed it? Seems like its affordability, size and restrictions allow it to be useful for a younger driver, yet you still have to jump the same hoops you do to have a decent ICE car.
It’s essentially a moped you need a car licence for.

great for people who live and work in citys,i have this image of that video of jermey clarkson in the citroen being overtaken in the lorry and it wobbling from side to side as someone drives one of these down the m50
I wish the battery had a slightly higher capacity. Otherwise it’s can get tricky in colder months. If we see versions with a range of 100-150km, these cars might get more popular in cities. But the general concept is great, as small as possible, no unnecessary gadgets, just a vehicle that gets you from A to B in the city.
I saw loads of these in Nice and Amsterdam. In Amsterdam they are even allowed to drive in the bike lanes and on to the ferry river crossings with all the bikes. Honestly I think they are cute

It’ll only suit a small amount of people but for those people it’s amazing value
Why would anyone invest €10k in a car that doesn’t have the range for a single trip to another part of the country? Can’t do Cork to Limerick, Limerick to Galway, Limerick to Dublin. People can say that it’s good for city driving or short trips but what happens when circumstances dictate that you need to make a longer trip? You’re stuck with a €10k car that’s not actually a car, just a small toy car. It’s good for the environment but it’s not actually fit for purpose.
Deathtrap of a yolk. The battery range will probably degrade to around 60km in cold weather and over time below 40k .
I fucking love it. I’d look like an absolute twat in one but I’d love to take it for a spin.

This would make a fantastic second car for families that already have an EV, dropping kids off when it’s raining and all. But I’ll wait til it’s €5k used for that
As someone who had to pick either a house or a car this would be ideal for me. I just need a car to go to work in and honestly I’m not that much of a car guy. It’s cheap low tax and electric, what else is there to love about it?
Can’t wait to see them on the motorway.

Wow… That’s useless (atleast for anyone not living in Dublin), 70km is nothing (and it’s usually less than what the manufacturer says, so let’s say 50), only left hand, which is a pain…

Lower it, custom body kit and a few other modifications and it would look class.
Motors getting robbed almost everywhere in Cork at the moment but can’t imagine the scrote wannabes taking one of these and doing wheelies up the Northside before the obligatory final stage of burning out. They would be too mortified and 45 km max ain’t exactly the fastest getaway either lol
I actually like it (though it’s a dull alternative to the Honda E) may be handy on the city streets, at least it would be bloody easy to park in the multistorey car parks
