    1. >Openly defending one’s decision not to have children will be prosecuted in Russia. The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, is preparing a bill under which authorities will impose fines of up to €50,000 ($55,580) for supporting “the refusal to have children.”

      >The measure affects all areas of life — from casual conversation to films and books — and is a serious threat to the Russian feminist movement.

My bet is that life is going to get increasingly more uncomfortable for people who don’t have kids in Ruzzia. Putin has his minions, ready to harass anyone who he deems an “enemy of the state”, be it gay people, people who oppose the war, people wearing blue and yellow clothing and now people who don’t have kids.

    3. By 2030 they will be fining anyone over 25 without kids. Of course one coulld buy a certificate from a doctor describing a “medical reason”.

He’s really desperate. The harsh truth is that no country has ever been able to successfully get the fertility rate back to replacement rate (2.1) after falling below it.

The tax on childlessness was in the USSR. So I expect it to be in Russia as well soon.
       P. S. Yesterday there was also news about project that girls who are under 19 years old, but who have a child, the state will award additional points for university entrance exams.

People having kids in Russia must be insane… 300 years from now, it will be reclaimed by nature.

Oh yes, that TOTALLY doesn’t sound completely deranged and coming from a collapsing government. Of course, that sounds completely reasonable
