Bend the middle one parallel, the lower one pointing down. Grip the lower one plus the top one and do a circle motion.

It’s a crank you have to turn. Also you should form it like a crank to use it, not like in any in your pictures.
You need to rotate the thing around the y axis.
Adding to all the other comments: you need to remove the rod from the bracket that is holding it in place first. Then fold the lower part of the rod and usie that to twist the rod around itself.
