This is the way to feed the arrogant and wealthy people of Europe!
These numbers per se mean almost nothing. Because 40% increase of fuel consumption, factored by modern engines efficiency (for example) may indicate 100% increase of moved goods or car/plane travels.
It will be more interesting in measurements of joules/person*km or joules/tonne*km by mode of transport.
And yet they force us to go back to the office…
