The thought, that direct democratic systems have a weak spot towards disinformation is striking.
There are already such cases in Switzerland dating back to July 2023 (https://www.rts.ch/info/suisse/14163180-une-affiche-du-plr-pour-les-federales-relance-la-question-de-lintelligence-artificielle-en-politique.html), and judging by how the USA is doing, it’s not going to get any better
