Aging seems like an unnecessary addition.
The Abrams is a effective tank. And a very flexible platform.
And Australia is giving a very generous amount. 49 tanks is not small.
The older soviet and nato tanks they are currently operstin are older than the Abrams and they seem to be doing good work.
I’m confident the addition of more Abrams will be a net positive.
They can restock their current Abrams fleet as well as create another armored company comprised of Abrams.
Which are and will continue to be a useful platform.
Aged… Lol. Guys, in this war old shit like T55 is still used. T64 and 72, as well as Leo 1 are, I assumed, the main tanks for both sides at this point. If Abrams is old, what about those?
Who is Australia fighting with that they need tanks?
In the Australian configuration each tank comes with a complimentary set of armored attack Emus
Tanks will be phased out after this war anyway, so why not use them for a good cause
So Australia will give 18 tanks more than the entire US has provided in 2.5 years, cool
