      TLDR:

      >Sinn Féin’s claim that Fine Gael’s manifesto pledges an additional half a billion Euro to landlords is therefore TRUE. As per our verdict guide, this means the claim is accurate, and is not missing any significant details or context.

    2. Weird way to phrase that they are keeping the existing tax relief

    3. Am I missing something or is the fact check all about the figures (which all seem correct in that article) or whether tax breaks amount to handing over public money?

If that’s the case we hand over exorbitant amounts of money to American pharmaceutical, financial and tech companies as well as a small fortune to Hollywood film and TV production companies

Tax breaks encourage whatever you’re trying to encourage. I’d much rather this article concentrated on whether any government actually _needs_ to provide tax breaks to landlords or not rather than haggling over the difference between 160m and 450m or whatever

Half a billion or double it and give it to the next landlord

I’ve found the journal to be a highly biased publication stuffed with inflammatory statements and click bait. I don’t use them anymore. Rte, Irish examiner and IT are sufficient.
