When voting today, people should remember that since 2020, homelessness has grown by 80% from 8,000 to 15,000.

A significant percentage of those homeless simply were evicted by landlords through no fault of their own.

Yeah, it’ll be worse in five years, after one of the two boys is voted in once again.

My brother and his wife and 3 year old have been living in a hotel for the last year and a half. My mother keeps telling them to move into her house but they don’t want to, even though they are in the house nearly every day until night time anyway and stay there at weekends.
Like there are 2 empty rooms in that house now and it’s only about 2 km from the hotel.

Please please please when you go to the polls today, keep these numbers in mind: Fine Gael (edit: with Fianna Fáil) have been in government for 14 years now and have presided over an increase in the homeless population of nearly 11,000 people.

That’s roughly the population of Athy, Longford or Skerries. 14 years of this government has put the equivalent of a small town out on the streets.

Please don’t give them any preference. Irish society can’t take any more.
