Am I the only one who doesn’t think this is that bad? It just seems like capitalism at work.

It is already common sense that German companies and government are not the most efficient ever. This does not seem to be so much a situation of demand having fallen so much for mass layoffs to happen, but more of a small reduction that made companies realize that the status quo is not sustainable.

Some are even relocating production segments to other European countries.

EDIT: ^(What the hell are these comments dismissive of capitalism? Who employed these people in the first place? What? Are companies to simply operate at a loss? )

^(I love that half the days on this sub is always “Europe is not competitive. Europe is losing to China. Europe is losing to America”, and then when something as small as this is done this reddit turns into a manifest of the proletariat)

We deserve everything that’ll happen from now on, we had plenty of time

    3. so how many of these 60k is people retiring and no replacement will get hired?

    4. The-Berzerker on

Most of these are just workers retiring and the company not replacing them

    5. i just want to live in my own country as bad as im living in Germany. Everybody screams how bad the things are and yes – its true they are worse than what it was 10 years ago but doesnt this count for the whole world.

Sanctions against RF (stick-it-to-Putin!) and green agenda are working…..

whenever there’s bad news on this sub the top comments are just copium. I personally know a senior engineer at top tier German automotive OEM who got laid off and now rehired at a Chinese company. And a few from Tier 1 suppliers too. Europe is losing money, talents and in the end everything to the US and China.

Why are European businesses doing so poorly. It’s worrying. Meanwhile the US are pulling away significantly and will put us at an even bigger disadvantage with their next administration.

What the hell can we do??!!

    9. Cautious_Ad_6486 on

      The solution is easy:
      – tell the companies that “no, they are not laying off anyone”.
      – massive investments in the industrial base
      – tariffs on everything that might compete with the said industrial base

Am I too much an evil commie for the Germans?

Oh the tragedy. The unemployment rate will go from 6% to 6.00130151843%

    11. More self-inflicted European stupidity. So used to the status quo and don’t want to innovate because they think they’ve achieved utopia, that they’re quick to talk shit to daddy America, even as their countries collapse. 60,000 employees. Killing it, obviously. Now Germany wants war with Russia, lmao. We all know who’s gonna be doing most of the work.

Germany’s govt is falling apart, the economy is falling apart, the culture is falling apart and being replaced, the military has been neglected for so long that reports show it wouldn’t be able to fight a conflict longer than a weekend.

Replace ‘german’ with usa or any other country and your title is still valid
